The theme at the expo this year was Enjoy the Show. Vendors decorated their booths in movie and game show themes. Life Care’s team decided to do a Hawaiian-themed booth to represent the Elvis classics “Blue Hawaii” and “Paradise, Hawaiian Style.” The facilities’ dietary teams prepared Hawaiian desserts and fruit for attending seniors to enjoy, and associates at the event also gave out cookies from the Honolulu Cookie Company.
The booth also featured a special guest, Noelani Derrossett, who was a hula dancer in “Paradise, Hawaiian Style.” She signed autographs on pictures of her in the movie with Elvis and took pictures with attendees in the photo booth.
“Noelani has been to both our facilities to entertain the residents, and they knew the seniors would love getting to meet her,” said Rebecca Young, business development director at Life Care Center of Sparta.
At the end of the event, the facilities received one of the two booth awards.
